What another fabulous weekend it has been for our girls playing for RTB
We have entered 4 different tournaments this weekend all being super successful for each team.
On the Saturday
1st Team to talk about is our amazing Under 12 teams. We entered 2 teams some of which had girls playing up a year. Competing in a boys tournament we saw these girls get recognised for there brilliant football, hard work and team work. 1 of our teams were successful enough to reach the semi finals but were unlucky to get beat 1v0.
2nd Team was our Under 14s playing a year up against girls at Failsworth. this was a great day for the girls, qualifying and winning all games to reach final. In the Final saw the girls against a RTC team. The girls showed their resilience and after a 0v0 draw in the game it was to a penalty shoot out again. We have not had much luck in the shoot outs recently and again even though through best efforts from our goal keeper lily saving a penalty, the other goal keeper made 2 saves meaning we came runners up. A brilliant achievement after entering against girls a year older.
Onto the Sunday
1st Teams were our under 13s entering a 9v9 torn again at Failsworth. We entered 2 teams, which saw both successful in the groups both progressing to the semi finals. This time however the girls meet in the semis. With a Fantastic game saw it was the hurricane that progressed to the finals which a stunning goal which no keeper could have saved by Jess Smith.
Onto the final, we played a very strong Avro team. We had some very good chances and were unlucky not to score but after a 0v0 game saw this game go into penalties. Down to the wire all girls stepped up and what an amazing job they did, all 5 scoring their penalties, and with 1 penalty missed by the opposing team saw RTB as the champions.
2nd Team to talk about was our amazing under 14s who were having an experience of a lifetime playing at St Georges park. We went here on the back end of a recent ESF butlers tournament. these girls were invited to this event as the wildcard, the best team of the tournament, voted by those at ESF. The girls were put into a league with the ESF Winners from around the uk, (Ireland,Newcastle and London) and after 3 x 28 min games saw the girls top the table on maximum 9 points, 9 gaols scored and 0 goals conceded, saw them crowned champions of the UK.
We are immensely proud of the girls and we are excited to continue our winning streak as we prepare for another busy weekend in Nottingham next weekend for the Aces National Tournament.
