Both the under 12s and the under 13s were back in action this weekend as they returned to their league fixtures.
Our Under 12 girls had a tricky start against league leaders Moston Vipers boys who have been beating teams double figure in their previous games.
The girls have come out of lockdown after working extremely hard online with Amanda, and this showed in their performance.
The girls started with fire in their bellies matching the boys on every blade of the grass coming in at half time just 1v0 down.
The girls worked the hardest we have seen them work, being physical and brave against boys that were much bigger than them. The girls ended up losing 6v0 but this score line didn't reflect fight and detemination we saw in every player. Coaches Andy and Danni were super proud of the way they performed and are sure if they perform like this for the rest of the season they will get some well deserved points on the board.
As for our Under 13s they were up against a well organised and strong Queensgate boys Team who sat mid table in the league before the game started.
Amanda's girls were without their central defender Arraya due to suspension and feeling a little bit nervous after only being able to stay fit over zoom sessions online.
The game got underway to which the girls were caught off guard by a controversial offside decision seeing the Queensgate striker through 1v1 with RTB Keeper Lily calmly slotting it into the back of the net. 1 minute gone and the girls saw themselves 1 nil down, However this didn't stop the girls.
They all pulled their socks up to ensure the 3 points they wanted on the score board was theirs.
And that is what they did, as a team they played lovely football, battled and showed their resilience as they came out winners at full time with a comfortable 5v1 win with some lovely goals from Layla Hatrick, Leah and Holly B.
The girls remain top of the league going into the next game.
Amanda and Neil both commented how proud they were of the girls after going a goal down, and it just shows how far they have come in just a short amount of time with every player in the squad playing a massive part.
