We have had a busy weekend of football for the girls with our Under 13s playing in a once in a life time tournament at St Georges Park the home of England Men and Women, And our Under 14s travel away to play in a Pre - Season friendly against Lostock Girls.
Our Under 14s Managed to secure a comfortable win without some key players in the squad winning 15-1. Rick Taylor the New Assistant Manager took the team to which he said "The girls looked really good, with some great combination play, good communication and team ethic, and looked strong and fit" This is a good little warm up for our girls to which some of our new signings got some good time under their belts, Goals were scored by Holly B x 2, Haz x 4, Leah x 4, Lily Mae, Rebecca, Scarlett, Libby x 2.
Our Under 13s continued to amaze the coaching staff of RTB going to St Georges Park and dominating the whole tournament, The girls were split into 2 teams (Hurricanes and Tornados)
and started off in a round robin comp in 2 separate groups. Both teams won all their games meaning they were top of their groups.
The next stage was. all top teams went in to a league against each other. so yes that meant our girls came head to head in this stage.
What a fantastic round it was, the head to head game ended In an exciting 0v0 draw meaning our hurricanes came top and our tornadoes a close 2nd.
It was final time, both teams made it they are in the final to play in the overall cup but yes this was against each other.
The final was a cracking game full of excitement, 0v0 until the last 2 mins of the game, a break was on with captain Layla (tornados) was through on goal, she squares the ball to Ella Betley with a fantastic Save made by Izzy in the tornados goal, also saving 2 of the rebounded shots, but unfourtnatly for her Layla was there to poke another rebound into the goal. 1v0 tornados.
1 minuet to play and the break was on for hurricanes to equalise, foul on the edge of the box was made its a free kick, Millie chips it into the box, with aa good sae from Tia in the tornados net, but the clearance hit a players hand, and a penalty was given.
Millie steps up to take the pen, and a unfortunately for her a great save was made by Tia keeping it at 1v0 before the final whilst was blown. Tornados ending up 1v0 winners and lifting the Cup.
All the staff at RTB were so proud watching every girl at RTB collect their medals and trophy. 1st and 2nd in the whole torn is a massive achievement and it just shows what these girls are made of.
Now we look forward to the start of what will be a very challenging season for all 3 teams. but with a summer like we have had we are looking forward to seeing what more these girls are going to achieve as WE ARE ALWAYS RAISING THE BARR !!!!!!
